Child Tax Credit - Is This A Joke?
We can sort out your tax for as little as £125 (fully inclusive).
Mike Maddison from Somerset achieved notoriety last week when in
desperation over delays in receiving his tax credits he walked
into his local tax office in Bridgwater and glued himself to the
inquiry desk.
After gluing his left hand to the desk, Mr. Maddison told
Revenue staff that he would not leave until he received his tax
credit payments. Thirty minutes later, and accompanied by police
and paramedics, the 36-year-old left the tax office with a
cheque for 400 pounds - six weeks' worth of tax credits. He had
been able to pull his hand free after sweat loosened the bond of
the glue.
Mr. Maddison explained: "My hand got quite hot, but there were
no burns or scarring. I'm just a hard-working man who was
hammered into a corner."
He added: "Sticking my hand to the table is not the sort of
thing I do for a hobby."
